National Honor Society for Dance Arts
Recognizing Dancers Who Lead, Achieve, and Inspire
At DanceSpace, we believe dance education goes far beyond the studio.
That's why we're proud to be an official Colorado Chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts™ (NHSDA), a program of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO). NHSDA recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in dance, leadership, character, and academic achievement.
For dancers who are passionate about their training and committed to their education, NHSDA offers an opportunity to be recognized for both.
Why join NHSDA?
Membership celebrates the dedication dancers bring both inside and outside the studio while providing opportunities that can support their future goals.
Members may receive:
- Recognition for artistic achievement and leadership
- Official NHSDA certificates as they advance through the program
- The opportunity to wear the NHSDA honor cord and gold honor pin at graduation
- Leadership opportunities within the DanceSpace chapter
- Access to state and national scholarships and awards
- A distinguished achievement to include on college and scholarship applications
Who can join?
DanceSpace offers two NHSDA chapters:
Junior Chapter
For dancers in 6th – 8th grade
Secondary Chapter
For dancers in 9th – 12th grade
Dancers in 11th and 12th grade are also eligible to apply for NHSDA scholarships and national awards.

NHSDA celebrates dancers who lead with passion, serve their community, and inspire those around them.
It's one more way DanceSpace supports dancers as they grow into confident leaders and lifelong learners, not just better artists.

Students have the opportunity to submit stories, poems, articles, photos, artwork, and chapter news while connecting with fellow dancers from across the country.
